A short line east of the Holy Sepulchre site, leaving the quarry and the tombs outside the city
Held by Most archaeologists, from the quarry under the Muristan and the Redeemer church
For
- Kenyon found a deep quarry in the Muristan, filled in only in the 1st century AD: open ground outside the city in Jesus' day.
- Under the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Ute Lux found the same quarry and no city wall.
Against
- No stretch of the wall itself has been surely identified; Josephus gives only its two ends.
