Bible Labs in your AI assistant

Add the Bible Labs to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or another AI assistant, and it can look up the labs, their tour stops, places, chapter guides and evidence while it answers you, then link you to the exact page. Free, read-only and no sign-in.

Server address (MCP, Streamable HTTP)

https://xdreamers.com/mcp

What it is

MCP (the Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call tools on other sites. Our MCP server answers only from the Labs' own pages: the tour text, the facts, the evidence notes and the chapter guides. Scripture comes from the site's own text, the King James Version (1769) in English and the 1919 Chinese Union Version (和合本) in Chinese. Every answer carries links back to the page or stop it came from, and the evidence level of each reconstruction.

The Labs themselves use no AI: the assistant you choose does the writing, and our server only hands it the Labs' data.

What your assistant can look up

  • search_labs: Find labs, tour stops, places, chapter guides and verse journeys on a topic, person, place or passage.
  • get_lab: One lab: its overview, facts, tour stops and the chapters it covers.
  • get_stop: One tour stop: its text, the verses in KJV or 和合本, its evidence and a link that opens exactly that stop.
  • find_place: Where a place was, how sure the location is, and the maps and labs that show it.
  • chapter_guide: What is in a Bible chapter, and which labs and stops show it.
  • how_sure: The competing views on a part of a lab, with their sources and what the lab chose to show.
  • list_reading_resources: The video guide, Bible Maps, verse journeys and the pages for teachers.

How to add it

Claude (claude.ai and Claude Desktop)

  1. Open Customize → Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the server address and click Continue.
  3. Under Authentication choose No sign in, then add the connector.
  4. In a chat, turn on X-Dreamers Bible Labs from the + menu → Connectors.

Custom connectors work on every Claude plan (the Free plan allows one). On Team and Enterprise plans an owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors → Add → Custom → Web.

ChatGPT

  1. Go to chatgpt.com/plugins, press +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Give it a name (X-Dreamers Bible Labs) and paste the server address under Connection.
  3. Set authentication to none, read the warning and choose I understand and want to continue.
  4. Choose Create as a plugin, install it, and in a new chat type @ to pick it.

Whether you can add custom MCP servers depends on your ChatGPT plan and, in a workspace, on what your admin allows (developer mode).

Cursor, VS Code and Claude Code

Cursor: add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or .cursor/mcp.json in a project).

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "xdreamers-bible-labs": {
      "url": "https://xdreamers.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

VS Code: add this to .vscode/mcp.json, or run MCP: Add Server and choose HTTP.

{
  "servers": {
    "xdreamers-bible-labs": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://xdreamers.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}

Claude Code: run this in a terminal.

claude mcp add --transport http xdreamers-bible-labs https://xdreamers.com/mcp

Any other assistant that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP can use the same address. No API key is needed.

Questions to try

  • How big was Noah's ark, and which parts of the Bible Labs model are guesses?
  • Plan a 45-minute youth lesson on the Tabernacle using Bible Labs, with a link for each stop.
  • Where was Capernaum, and how sure are we about the house of Peter?
  • What happens in Exodus 25, and where can I see it in 3D?
  • Where did Pilate judge Jesus? Show me the competing views and their sources.
  • Give me the Bible Labs maps and videos for a study on the life of Jesus.

Fair use and privacy

The server is free and public. To keep it fast for everyone, each address may make up to 120 requests a minute. It keeps no record of what you ask: your assistant sends only the tool calls, and we do not store their content. Quoting and citing the Labs in answers is welcome, with a link back to the page.
