The Spirit gives life
“…not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.” KJV
Paul wrote that God made us ministers of a new covenant, one written not on tablets of stone but on human hearts by the Spirit of the living God. This site is a place to lay that foundation: reading Scripture slowly, listening for the Holy Spirit, and letting the words become life.
Not the Letter, but the Spirit
It is possible to know a great deal about the Bible and still miss the God who speaks through it. The letter alone informs; the Spirit gives life. The goal here is not more information but transformation: to be changed from glory to glory as we behold the Lord (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Building a Foundation
Three things to grow in, day by day.
Know God
Eternal life is knowing the Father and Jesus Christ whom he sent. Begin with who God is before what he asks.
Walk by the Spirit
The Holy Spirit is not an idea to study but a Person to follow. Learn his voice, his fruit, and his ways.
Build on the Rock
A foundation is laid one stone at a time. Hear the words of Jesus, then put them into practice.
Topics
Verses gathered around what we most need to hold on to.
Hope & Promise
Our hope rests on what God has promised, and his promises are the encouragement to keep going.
Love
God is love. He loved us first, and nothing can separate us from his love.
Overcome
Christ has overcome the world, and in him we are more than conquerors.
God at the Center
All things are from him, through him, and to him. Seek him first.
Joy
The joy of the Lord is our strength, a joy that trials cannot take away.
Healing
The Lord heals the broken-hearted and binds up their wounds.
Peace
Jesus gives a peace the world cannot give, a peace that guards our hearts and minds.
Patience
Wait for the Lord. Those who endure in doing good will reap in due season.
Our Identity
Made in God's image, made new in Christ: children of God, chosen and loved.
