- Strongly supportedBiblical text
Three tenths of an ephah of flour for each bull, two tenths for each ram and one tenth for each lamb; drink offerings of about ½, ⅓ and ¼ hin of wine.
The flour is stated in Numbers 29:14–15. Numbers 29 says only 'according to their number' for the drink offerings; the wine measures come from the general rule in Numbers 15:5–10.

- SpeculativeLater Jewish tradition
The seventy bulls stand for the seventy nations of the world.
A later rabbinic interpretation (Talmud, Sukkah 55b), linked to the seventy nations of Genesis 10. The text of Numbers gives no reason for the numbers.
