2 Corinthians 3:6

who made us adequate to be servants of a new covenant not based on the letter but on the Spirit, for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
NET · New English Translation (NET Bible®)
Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life.
KJV · King James Version (1769)
And He has qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
BSB · Berean Standard Bible

The new covenant, in the original languages

In 2 Corinthians 3, Paul draws on God’s promise in Jeremiah 31 to write his law on our hearts. Here it is in Hebrew, in the Greek of the Septuagint, and in English.

WLC · Jeremiah 31:33
LXX Swete · Jeremiah 38:33 (LXX numbering)
But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
KJV · Jeremiah 31:33
