Bible Story Map
The whole Bible as one mind map: twelve big stories, over a hundred stories inside them, and hundreds of episodes, each with its passage and a key verse. Good for seeing where this week's passage sits in the whole.

Key facts
- The map opens on twelve big stories, from creation to the new creation; tap a branch to open the stories inside it.
- The big stories follow the eras of the Bible Time Map; inside each one, the stories keep the order of the biblical narrative.
- Psalms and wisdom books sit with David and Solomon, the prophets with the kings they spoke to, and the letters with the churches that received them.
- Every story and episode names its passage and quotes one key verse, so a class can go from the map straight to the text.
- Where a date or a place is uncertain, such as the date of the Exodus or the site of Mount Sinai, the branch shows how sure we can be.
- In class: open only the branch you are teaching, then close it again to show the whole picture at the end.
Key verses
And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.Luke 24:27 · King James Version
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: 2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.Genesis 12:1–3 · King James Version
Talk about it
- Which big story do you know best, and which one could you hardly tell in your own words?
- How does seeing this week's passage inside the whole story change the way you read it?
- Jesus explained “all the Scriptures” as being about himself. Where on the map do you see him coming?
How sure can we be?
The Bible says
- Each story is told as the Bible tells it, with its passage.
- The key verses are quoted from the KJV and the 1919 Chinese Union Version.
Our reconstruction
- Grouping into twelve big stories, and where poetry, prophets and letters are placed, are our editorial choices.
- Choosing one key verse per story is a teaching aid, not a claim that the verse sums up the passage.
Still debated
- Some dates and places, such as the Exodus, Mount Sinai and the time of Job, are uncertain and marked so.
